Rose Petal Artisan Vodka

As Valentine's Day nears, there will be a flurry of new products to capitalize on the holiday. I just learned about a new vodka, Rose Petal Artisan Vodka, being released by Modern Spirits.

This vodka is: "Made with only the petals of three highly aromatic rose varieties that the founders grew in their back yard." Its suggested retail price is $24.99 for 375ml bottles and $43.99 for 750ml bottles. So it definitely is on the higher end of vodka prices.

Modern Spirits is run by a husband and wife team, Melkon Khosrovian and Litty Mathew, who founded the company in 2004. They make artisan vodkas, using only natural ingredients and small-batch production techniques. All of their products appear to be infused vodkas. They carry flavors like black truffle, candied ginger, celery popcorn, chocolate orange, grapefruit honey, pear lavender, and three tea. They also have seasonal flavors, such as the Rose Petal.

Some of the flavors sound interesting but the price is a bit of turnoff. From their website, it does not look like these vodkas are currently for sale in Massachusetts.
