Fugakyu

(Originally posted 10/15/06)

For an early dinner yesterday, a friend and I stopped at Fugakyu, a Japanese restaurant in the Coolidge Corner area. I have been there several times before and always had an excellent meal. This time, we sat at the sushi bar and ordered sushi and appetizers. The highlight of the appetizers was the miso yaki, a large piece of grilled Chilean sea bass with a miso glaze. The fish was fresh, flaky, sweet and very delicious. All of the sushi was very fresh, good-sized and excellent tasting. The chutoro was superb, melting in your mouth like silky butter.

I recommend this restaurant for anyone seeking good Japanese food.
